At the heart of my work is the desire to capture stories as they are truly felt as the brand name suggests! While I’m drawn to the honesty of real moments unfolding naturally, I’ve also grown to appreciate the beauty of thoughtful details, fashion, composition, and the confidence that comes from gentle guidance.
Every couple has a different story and my role is to create an experience where you can feel comfortable, present, and completely yourselves. Through a balance of candid storytelling and refined direction, I help create imagery that feels effortless while still celebrating the beauty, elegance, and emotion of your day. Whether it’s an intimate elopement in the Blue Mountains, a wedding celebration in the Hunter Valley, a proposal in Sydney, or a destination wedding somewhere unforgettable in Europe, I approach every session with curiosity and intention. From quiet glances and genuine laughter to carefully considered details and beautifully composed portraits, every element becomes part of the story.

“Ash did a wonderful job. I had expressed prior to the engagement party that I was not used to taking photos and never knew how to pose (I always just assumed i was very unphotogenic and would never look nice in photos), however Ash reassured me that it would be fine and on the day he did an excellent job of directing us and helping us figure out what poses worked for us and made it all feel very comfortable and easy (he also suggested doing some research and and sending in poses i wanted to try on the day in advance so i had some inspo and a plan ready to go which was also very helpful!). We asked him to show up a bit earlier than all the guests so we could also do a little solo photoshoot (and so glad we did!). He was very personable on the day and it felt like everything went smoothly in terms of the photo taking. He also made the effort of going around and getting the guests to pose for some fun photos. I had so many people remark that they thought he was quite fun and energetic to have.”

“The photos also turned out STUNNING. I had mentioned to Ash that I really loved some of the work he did for Jeremy and Samantha at Restaurant Hubert (portfolio for that is on his website) (I am also a massive fan of the 80’s Hong Kong street elopements with that raw flash + grainy film vibe) and I feel like the photos really captured that kind of energy, especially the photos of everyone dancing (there was so much energy!). I had made my own dress out of some metallic satin fabric and the way it turned out in photos was stunning. I had also taken the time to separate out the photos we got into groups and send them out to people individually and most people commented on how beautiful the photos turned out and what a fantastic job Ash did. I would definitely recommend his work and I love showing people our photos (I even made a photobook using some of my faves that I cherish).”
