Hosted as both a milestone anniversary and end of year Christmas celebration, the evening brought together an incredible group of guests from a variety of industries, creating an atmosphere that felt relaxed, welcoming, and full of energy. From the moment guests arrived, there was a strong sense of celebration in the air as colleagues, friends, and industry professionals gathered to reflect on a decade of success and look forward to the future.

A special thank you goes to Leo Matis for the invitation to document the event. Leo is an incredibly talented drone pilot whose work continues to impress across Sydney and beyond. It was great to see such a creative community come together under one roof and celebrate the occasion in style.

One of the unexpected highlights of the evening was reconnecting with David, whose wedding I had photographed the previous year. Running into past wedding clients at events like these is always a special full circle moment and a reminder of how photography allows us to become part of people's stories long after the wedding day itself.

The night was filled with fantastic entertainment, including talented musicians who kept the atmosphere lively throughout the evening and a magician who left guests amazed with interactive performances and spontaneous moments of wonder. These experiences created countless opportunities for candid photography, capturing authentic reactions, laughter, and conversations that unfolded naturally throughout the event.

As a candid photographer, these are often my favourite types of events to document. Rather than focusing solely on formal portraits, the goal is to capture genuine moments as they happen. The spontaneous smiles, group interactions, celebrations, speeches, and unexpected encounters are what truly tell the story of an event and create meaningful photographs that people connect with years later.
