Sol and Tanna (Coogee Beach Proposal and Surprise Engagement Celebration at Coogee)

What began as a relaxed couples photoshoot quickly turned into one of the most emotional and exciting proposal stories I've had the privilege of documenting. Sol had meticulously planned every detail, creating a surprise that would unfold across multiple locations and involve their closest family and friends.

The proposal took place at the beautiful InterContinental Coogee Beach, one of Sydney's premier beachfront destinations for weddings, engagement celebrations, romantic getaways, and proposal experiences. Overlooking the ocean and surrounded by the relaxed coastal atmosphere that makes Coogee so special, Sol asked Tanna the question he had been waiting to ask.

Thankfully, the answer was an enthusiastic yes.

Following the proposal, the surprises were only just beginning. After completing some intimate engagement portraits together, I pretended to pack up and head home. Little did the newly engaged couple know that downstairs, a room full of family and friends had already gathered for a surprise engagement party waiting to celebrate with them.

The moment they walked into the venue and realised their loved ones were there was filled with pure emotion. Reactions like these are why candid photography is so powerful. The genuine surprise, laughter, happy tears, hugs, and excitement created some of the most meaningful photographs from the entire evening.
